Holiday Inn Express Rochester South - Mayo Area by IHG

I have to give it less then 5 stars. First night I booked with Priceline and price was GREAT. We had to extend our stay and it was almost 40.00 higher. I was wowed with that much of a difference. Both nights during the week. Otherwise rooms are great and spacious clean and dont have no odd smells. Staff we have spoke with have been great so far. We have to stay 2 more night not sure if we will stay here or go some where else with the pricing.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 4141 Maine Ave SE in Rochester, MN, and overall, it was a pleasant experience during our road trip. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which set a great tone right from check-in. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the lobby had a nice, modern feel. I appreciated the breakfast area, which offered a good variety of options to start the day. One standout feature was the bean-to-cup fresh coffee machine—it made for a delicious, high-quality brew that felt like a treat. On the downside, I was surprised by the $2.00 fee for the in-room safe; that's the first time I've encountered that at any hotel, and it felt unnecessary. We were on the first floor, and getting hot water for the shower took longer than expected—about 5 to 10 minutes of running the tap before it warmed up. It seemed like the hot water recirculation system might not be functioning properly, but once the water got hot, it stayed consistent throughout the shower. A big plus after a long day of driving was the hot tub—it was a relaxing way to unwind and exactly what we needed. I'd recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, friendly service, and amenities, though they could address those minor issues for an even better stay

The motel is comfortable. Breakfast was OK. Large selection but usually the same. When you stay for a week it would be nice to switch it up. Only disappointment was upon checking out our bill was hire than the reservation. They added on a safe charge. Yes, there was a safe in our room but we didn't use it.

Hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately the tv guide was not accurate or not had all the channels available.

My entire experience with this hotel was great. It was quiet at night, located in a good spot, had a fitness center with working equipment, pool and hot tub were sufficient, keurig in the room, working fridge, nice bathroom, hot coffee, and had a good breakfast.

Great hotel. Very clean rooms as well as the hotel. Breakfast bar is great. Nice selection of foods.

Had to stop here in a snow storm, rates were very fair, clean spacious room, great amenities. Would recommend!

I love the Lakeview room layout! It's much better than a suite for a single business traveler. Hotels are always upgrading me to a suite, which puts the bed off centered from the TV and providing a second TV in front of a wore out couch that I will not sit on. The Lakeview toom at this hotel is laid out for business travelers IMO.
